Connor Zilisch overcame an early penalty and self induced damage to win the Xfinity Series race at Circuit of the Americas.
Zilisch began on the pole and would lead until a caution for the car of Baltazar Leguizamon which had become stopped on the front stretch. Zilisch was attempted to make a pitstop and entered a closed pit where his team proceeded to service his car. William Byron who was running second also attempted to pit but aborted his stop. The lead would cycle to Byron who would win the stage.
The next caution would fall on lap 30 when Jeremy Clements spun into the tire barrier. Ten laps later Harrison Burton claimed the second stage win.
With 20 laps to go, contact from Zilisch would spin out Corey Heim as Zilisch picked up a tire rub. On lap 58 Zilisch would pull up alongside leader Carson Kvapil and take the lead and go onto win the Focused Health 250.
