In the world of bowling, a “turkey” represents three consecutive strikes, and today, Spire Motorsports and Go Bowling announced their own version of a turkey with a major partnership featuring veteran NASCAR driver Michael McDowell. Go Bowling will serve as the primary sponsor for McDowell in three key races during the 2025 NASCAR season, beginning with a high-profile appearance at the legendary Daytona International Speedway.
The partnership kicks off with McDowell piloting the No. 71 Go Bowling Chevrolet ZL1 in the prestigious 67th running of the Daytona 500. As a former Daytona 500 champion, McDowell will look to add another victory at the iconic track, this time under the Go Bowling banner. Additionally, Go Bowling will sponsor McDowell in the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series, where he will compete in the Fresh from Florida 250 at Daytona behind the wheel of the No. 07 Go Bowling Chevrolet Silverado. Later in the season, the partnership extends to Watkins Glen International for the Go Bowling at The Glen event, where McDowell will again represent the brand in the Cup Series.
Bowling remains the most popular participatory sport in the United States, drawing over 60 million enthusiasts to lanes nationwide each year. McDowell, a seasoned competitor with 501 NASCAR Cup Series starts, is an ideal ambassador for Go Bowling, as he and his family are avid bowlers themselves.
“It’s awesome to have a new partnership at Spire Motorsports with Go Bowling, and it’s a program that fits me very well,” said McDowell. “Bowling is a family-friendly activity, and my whole family really enjoys it. My wife and I just took our kids bowling last week, and I can promise you, we had a ball. We’re looking forward to three exciting races where we think we have a shot to win each time out, and we are very thankful to have Go Bowling as a partner.”
McDowell, a Glendale, Arizona native, boasts an impressive NASCAR resume that includes two Cup Series victories, six pole positions, 11 top-five, and 44 top-10 finishes. He captured the 2021 Daytona 500 title and earned another career-defining win at the 2023 Verizon 200 at the Brickyard. McDowell’s experience at Daytona is particularly noteworthy, as he has accumulated multiple top finishes and led 58 laps on the famed 2.5-mile track.
The partnership also marks a unique crossover between two beloved American pastimes. “We’re excited to fire up this partnership with Michael McDowell and the Spire Motorsports team,” said John Harbuck, President of Strike Ten Entertainment and Go Bowling. “Bowling and NASCAR align perfectly. Both sports have passionate and loyal fan bases. We’re looking forward to seeing Michael competing out on the track in the No. 71 Go Bowling Chevrolet ZL1 and the No. 07 Go Bowling Chevy Silverado at Daytona. After that, we’ll gear up for the road course at Watkins Glen and bowling lanes at our Go Bowling at The Glen race in August.”
Fans can catch McDowell in action in the Fresh from Florida 250 at Daytona on Friday, February 14, with live coverage on FS1 beginning at 7:30 p.m. EST. The NASCAR Cup Series season then kicks off with the 67th running of the Daytona 500, airing live on FOX on Sunday, February 16, at 2:30 p.m. EST. Both races will also be broadcast on MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio Channel 90.
With McDowell’s skill behind the wheel and Go Bowling’s enthusiastic support, this partnership is set to roll a perfect strike in 2025.
