Kurt Busch and Travis Pastrana Join Forces for Team USA at Race of Champions Sydney 2025

Racing fans, get ready! NASCAR legend Kurt Busch and global motorsport icon Travis Pastrana will represent Team USA at the Race Of Champions (ROC) in Sydney’s Accor Stadium on March 7-8, 2025. The dynamic duo will create an American “Super Team,” aiming for the coveted Nations Cup trophy in this thrilling stadium showdown.

Kurt Busch Returns to the Track
The 2004 NASCAR Cup Series champion and IROC Champion (2003), Kurt Busch, has been cleared to compete after retiring from full-time NASCAR racing due to a 2024 Pocono injury. Known as one of NASCAR’s 75 Greatest Drivers and a West Coast Stock Car Hall of Fame inductee, Busch boasts 34 Cup Series wins, including marquee victories like the Daytona 500 (2017) and Coca-Cola 600 (2010).

“I’m honored to receive another invite from Race Of Champions,” said Busch. “This is a chance to go up against the best of the best from around the world. Go Team USA!”

Travis Pastrana’s High Praise for Busch
Action sports and racing superstar Travis Pastrana couldn’t be more thrilled to have Busch by his side:
“There’s no one from America I’ve seen at past ROC who can jump in these cars and perform like Kurt,” said Pastrana. “We’re going all the way to Australia to win it all for Team USA!”

World-Class Competition
Busch and Pastrana will face an all-star lineup, including:

  • 4-time F1 World Champion Sebastian Vettel
  • Current F1 ace Valtteri Bottas
  • 7-time Supercars Champion Jamie Whincup
  • Reigning Supercars Champion Will Brown
  • Rally legends Sébastien Loeb and Johan Kristoffersson
  • Dakar winner Toby Price, and many more.

Event Details
The Race Of Champions will feature a 1km tarmac track inside Sydney’s Olympic Stadium, running over two nights. This event is perfectly positioned in a massive motorsport month in Australia, sandwiched between the Supercars opener (Feb 21-23) and the F1 season kickoff in Melbourne (March 13-16).
