Ross Chastain and the No. 1 Chevrolet will start from the pole in Sunday’s Cup Series event at Watkins Glen International.
This event is the second of three in the first round of the Cup Series playoffs. Joey Logano won a week ago to guarantee himself entry into the second round. Entering Watkins Glen Denny Hamlin and Ty Gibbs are just two and one point ahead of the cutoff line while Brad Keselowski is one below. Harrison Burton, Martin Treux Jr, and Chase Briscoe are all 16 or more points back.
Other playoff drivers include Ryan Blaney (+45), Christopher Bell (+40), Tyler Reddick (+33), William Byron (+33), Alex Bowman (+27), Austin Cindric (+27), Chase Elliott (+24), Daniel Suarez (+22) and Kyle Larson (+15).
