Josef Newgarden won Saturday evenings Bommarito Automotive Group 500.
The event at World Wide Technology Raceway was pushed into night time after a series of crashes and a red flag. With eight laps to go the race was red flagged after Alexander Rossi made contact with Will Power on a restart with 10 laps to go. The crash ruined Rossi’s hope of a top-five and further compounded Power’s slim chances of catching points leader Alex Palou.

Newgarden would lead the field back to green faster on the final restart of the race claiming his 31st win in his career. The win is his fifth at World Wide Technology Raceway.
