Kyle Larson began the race on the pole and lead though the end of the first stage earning the stage win. The second caution of the day would come out on lap 110 when Christopher Bell suffered a broken right front suspension and went up the track in turn 3.
Joey Logano would lead a large number of laps in the second stage after a two tire stop but faded late giving Denny Hamlin the stage win. Chase Elliott would go onto take the lead in the third stage as Bell again brought out a caution at the midway point of the race.
A crash by John Hunter Nemechek would send the race to overtime. Byron would hold off Elliott enroute to the 1-2-3 finish for Hendrick Motorsports with Larson slipping into second ahead of Elliott. Bubba Wallace was the fourth place finisher driving a Toyota while the first Ford was Ryan Blaney in fifth.
The win is the third of the year for Byron and the 13th in his career.
