Cole Custer placed his No. 00 Ford Mustang on the pole for Saturday’s running of the Contender Boats 300 at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
Custer is one of eight drivers eligable for the end of season championship in the Xfinity Series. Joining Custer on the front row will be John Hunter Nemechek.
Entering the Xfinity Series race at Homestead Nemechek (+47), Justin Allgaier (+21). Austin Hill (+19) and Custer (+15) are above the cut line for advancing into the championship race at Phoenix Raceway. Chandler Smith (-15), Sam Mayer (-15), Sammy Smith (-35) and Sheldon Creed (-41) are all hoping to push their way into the playoffs either this weekend or next week at Martinsville Speedway. A win at Las Vegas by Riley Herbst means at least two drivers will advance via points.
Coverage of the Contender Boats 300 will air on USA Network beginning at 3:00 pm ET.
