Scott McLaughlin scores pole for IndyCar race at WWT Raceway, Lineup

Scott McLaughin scored the pole for Sunday’s running of the Bommarito Automotive 500 at World Wide Technology Raceway. McLaughlin will not start on the pole after a nine spot grid penalty for an engine change.

Wet conditions at the track forced an alteration to the weekends schedule with practice taking place Saturday evening under the lights with qualifying being moved to Sunday morning.

Much like McLaughlin, Alex Palou who qualified fifth will start the race 14th after receiving a nine place gride penalty for an engine change. Other drivers receiving a grid penalty include Scott Dixon, Takuma Sato, Kyle Kirkwood and Agustin Canapino.

The race is scheduled for 260 laps around the 1.25-mile track for a total of 325 miles or 523 kilometers.

Coverage of the Bommarito Automotive 500 begins at 3:30 pm ET on NBC, Peacock and IndyCar Live.
