Marcus Ericsson driving Frankencar at WWT Raceway

After being collected in an incident during Saturday’s practice session with Will Power, the crew of the No. 8 car driven by Marcus Ericcson had a long night.

In putting together Ericsson’s car the team had to take parts what parts they could get and the results eye catching. Crew members from all four of Chip Ganassi Racing’s teams participated in getting the machine ready for today’s race at World Wide Technology Raceway.

Ericsson’s car will have several parts that look like Alex Palou’s No. 10 as the tub is one of Palou’s backup cars. The majority of the car will look like Palou’s car with the exception of a few parts which are red, most notably the sides of the front win, the rear wing, and the area right next to the cockpit. The car was not rewrapped for the race.

Earlier in the week it was announced that Ericsson would be joining Andretti Autosport for the 2024 season.
