Alex Palou given nine position grid penalty at WWT Raceway

IndyCar officials have given a nine-position grid penalty to the No. 10 driven by Alex Palou.

The penalty comes to the Chip Ganassi Racing driver following an unapproved engine change.

Since qualifying does not happen until 11 am, it is currently unknown where Palou will line up for the 3:30 pm race at World Wide Technology Raceway.

With three races remaining Palou has a 101 point lead over his CGR teammate Scott Dixon and a 105 point lead over Indy 500 winner Josef Newgarden.
