Jacob Abel was the fastest in Indy NXT’s first practice at the 13-turn Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.
Points leader Nolan Siegel was third fastest, just behind his closest competition in the points Christian Rasmussen. Louis Foster who has multiple poles this season was fourth in the first practice session. In total 17 cars took to the track in the session.
Ernie Francis would go off the track in turn 9 about midway though the session. Abel is currently fourth in the points 61 back of Siegel, but just 21 back of second place Rasmussen.
The Indy NXT Series will practice again on Saturday ahead of Sunday’s 35 lap race which will air on Peacock beginning at 11:40 am ET.
