Stewart-Haas Racing expected to make Josh Berry announcement Wednesday

Stewart-Haas Racing has scheduled a press conference on Wednesday with a major announcement. That announcement is expected to be that Josh Berry will replace Kevin Harvick in the No. 4 at the end of the season.

Harvick is one of the individuals scheduled to appear at the announcement as he nears the end of his days as an active driver. Rodney Childers, current crew chief of Harvick, is also scheduled to appear which suggests he may be paired with Berry for next season.

With injuries to Chase Elliott and Alex Bowman the 32-year-old Berry has made eight starts in the Cup Series this season scoring a top-five, three top-ten while posting a 18.9 average finish.

Berry has been a fixture in the Xfinity Series for much of the last three seasons which has seen him go to victory lane five times in 69 starts during that span.

The No. 4 car has been driven by Harvick since his arrival at the team for the 2014 season after a lengthy run in the No. 29 Chevrolet at Richard Childress Racing following the death of Dale Earnhardt. In his first season with SHR the driver who has earned the nickname “Happy” scored the Cup Series championship. In his career Harvick has 60 wins in NASCAR’s top series with 37 coming in the No. 4 machine.
