Nolan Siegel won Sunday morning’s Indy NXT race at Road America, claiming his second win in the series in as many races.

Kyffin Simpson’s time at the front of the field would be short lived as he hit a curb and got air on the opening lap. Simpson would fall back in the field due to the incident as Reece Gold moved to the front of the field.

Jamie Chadwick would go off course early dropping her from her ninth place starting position. Colin Kaminsky would go off the course on lap three losing several positions after battling with Simpson who continued to fall though the field. Jacob Abel moved around Louis Foster for third on lap six. Two laps later Siegel would get around Gold for the race lead.

Christian Rasmussen entered the day two points ahead of Siegel in the point standings but he would have a difficult day ultimately crashing out at the midway point of the race after going off track to bring out the first caution of the race. Jagger Jones would be one of the drivers who used the caution to get fresh tires but it would result in him being shown at the back of the field.

Abel would go around Gold on the ensuring restart with Hunter McElrea following with Foster behind. Sigel would finish the race 1.2695 seconds ahead of Abel with McElrea, Gold and James Roe rounding out the top-five.

Siegel entered the day two points behind Rasmussen in the point standings. He will now assume the top spot 40 points ahead of Rasmussen and 56 points ahead of Hunter McElrea in third. The series will move to the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in two weeks.
