Aric Almirola returned for the 2023 season to drive the No. 10 Ford Mustang of Stewart Haas Racing putting off retirement. A year later the now 39-year-old Almirola is again facing the same decision.
Almirola reportedly has an option to continue racing the No. 10 for the 2024 season but no decision has been made. Asked by Ford about a decision on his future Almirola responded.
“I think it’s still very fluid. I don’t have any timetable. By this time last year what I thought was going to happen ended up not happening, so I think, for me, it’s just get up every morning and continue to work hard at being the best race car driver I can be and we’ll see where things shake out.”
Entering this weekend’s race at Sonoma, Almirola currently sits 25th in the points scoring one lone top-ten across 15 starts.
