Newgarden wins Indy 500, Results

Josef Newgarden, a two-time NTT IndyCar Champion, has checked off one of the accomplishments which had eluded him. Newgarden won the 107th running of the Indianapolis 500 on Sunday.

The event was marred by three stoppages for red flags for crashes in the closing stages. Newgarden became just the third driver to make a last lap pass for the win when he passed 2022 winner Marcus Ericsson on a one lap shootout to end the race. Newgarden went into the crowd after winning the race.
