Rain at Charlotte Motor Speedway resulted in the canceling of qualifying for Sunday’s Coca-Cola 600.
The Coca-Cola 600 is one of the crown jewel events of NASCAR’s Cup Series schedule. Now William Byron, a three-time winner this season, will start the race on the pole.
Cup Series drivers will compete in a 400 lap race around the 1.5-mile Charlotte Motor Speedway. The Coca-Cola 600 has annually been run on Sunday of Memorial Day weekend.
Sunday’s Coca-Cola 600 will be the third big event to be run on Sunday following F1’s event at Monaco and IndyCar’s Indianapolis 500. Coverage of the Coca-Cola 600 will air on FOX beginning at 6 pm ET.
