Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc claimed the pole for the Azerbaijan Grand Prix on Friday.
The pole is the first of the year for the Monaco born driver, a year after he set a career best with 10. The pole is the 19th in Leclerc’s career. For Leclerc it is the third year in a row he has won the pole for the Baku race.
If Leclerc is to win his first race of the season he will need to hold off the cars of Red Bull Racing who placed Max Verstappen second and third on the grid. Though three races Verstappen has two wins while Perez has one. Leclerc’s teammate Carlos Sainz starts fourth.
