Carson Hocevar entry withdrawn from Dover Xfinity Series race

Carson Hocevar will not make his NASCAR Xfinity Series debut this weekend at Dover Motor Speedway.

Hocevar was scheduled to drive the No. 77 Chevrolet of Spire Motorsports.

Spire Motorsports has opted to withdraw the entry which had Hocevar listed as a driver due to the forecasted weather at Dover this weekend. The team was concerned that rain would cancel qualifying leaving them out of the A-Game 200 at Dover.

The team released the following statement “XFINITY UPDATE: Due to weather, we’ve decided to withdraw the #77 and @CarsonHocevar  from the race at @MonsterMile. With the potential for qualifying to be rained out and us not make the show, we decided it’s better to pump the brakes until @TooToughToTame.

Hocevar will now make his Xfinity Series debut in the No. 77 car at Darlington Raceway.
