AJ Allmendinger claimed the win in Saturday’s running of the The Pit Boss 250 producing a a 1-2-3 finish for Cup Series regulars in the Xfinity Series race at Circuit of the Americas with Ty Gibbs finishing third.
Allmendinger would win the first stage and it became clear that the Cup Series regulars would be a threat to win on the day with Aric Almirola, William Byron, and Ty Gibbs all appearing up front on the day.
Cole Custer would bring out a caution to end stage two when he got his car stuck in the turn four trap following contact with Josh Berry. Sheldon Creed would win the stage.
With 14 laps in the race Allmendinger would get into the side of Creed knocking him off the track while allowing Byron to pull up and challenge for the lead.
Sammy Smith, Justin Allgaier, Daniel Hemric and Sam Mayer will all go onto the next race with a chance to win $100,000 if they are the highest finisher of the four.
