Kirk Cousins has tested positive for the COVID-19 making him out for the Vikings Week 17 game against the Packers.
Behind Cousins the Vikings had been Kellen Mond and Kyle Sloter but neither has taken a snap in a regular season game. According to Courtney Cronin, the Vikings will take Sean Manning off the reserve/COVID-19 list and he would be line to start against the Packers.
In his career Mannion, 29, has appeared in 13 games, including two starts, but has just 74 pass attempts for 384 yards and three interceptions.
I’m told that the Vikings are planning to announce Sean Mannion will be coming off the COVID-19/Reserve list today. He was placed on the COVID list last Sunday while Kellen Mond served as Kirk Cousins’ backup. Mannion will be in line to start vs. GB.

The Vikings enter Week 17 on the outside looking in for a playoff spot at 7-8. Earlier this season they did upset the Packers at home but without Cousins repeating that task will require a holiday miracle.
Cousins has been one of the more vocal players who have not been vaccinated against COVID-19.
