Browns sticking with Colquitt, waive Gillan

The Browns are sticking with Dustin Colquitt as their punter waiving Jamie Gillan in the process.

Gillan was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list after testing positive on Dec. 9 and the Browns signed Colquitt as a replacement. Nearly two weeks later the team has opted to keep Colquitt over Gillan.

“Dustin did a nice job,” Browns coach Kevin Stefanski said Wednesday. “I am disappointed for Jamie — I spoke to Jamie — but that is part of this business, so he understands that.”

The Browns next play the Packers (11-3) in Green Bay on Christmas Day. At 7-7 the team is in desperate need of a victory to keep their playoff hopes alive in a crowded AFC Wild Card picture.
