Ryan Sieg Racing parts ways with Shane Wilson following penalty

Ryan Sieg Racing has parted ways with crew chief Shane Wilson.

On Wednesday Wilson was suspended for four races for violations of Sections 12.5.2.5.a (Safety) and 10.9.8.l (Crew Members/Servicing) of the NASCAR handbook. The second violation sates: “A safety violation may be imposed for any action or omission by a Competitor or vehicle that creates an unsafe environment or poses a threat to the safety of the Competitors, as determined by NASCAR.”

Kevin Starland will take over as the crew chief for the team. He previously held that role this season prior to the arrival of Wilson at Darlington, the ninth race of the season.

Wilson worked with Ryan Sieg Racing in 2019 before leaving to join David Gilliland Racing in 2020.
