Kyle Larson Current Favourite to win NASCAR Championship!

Another wonderful season of racing is now well underway, and it has not disappointed us with twists and turns along the way. The season has already seen 12 different winners and it would be fair to say that the number of different individual winners will likely be more than that by the time we get to Phoenix on November 7.

We have seen the bookmakers change the odds for the outright winner several times, with some big movers along the way. It is impossible to say who will take the title by the end of the season, however, things are really starting to shape up and we are getting a good idea of where racers are likely to be, come season-end.

Favourite for the Crown

Kyle Larson finds himself as the current favourite to take the NASCAR Championship. The season has seen a lot of movement since the season opener at Daytona. Kyle Busch was the winner on that day, registering his first of 2 wins this season, with his second coming at Kansas.

An emphatic season from Kyle Larson has seen him lift 5, 1st place positions, so far, with another 9 races to go before the Play-Offs. It looks certain like Larson will find himself ranked amongst the favourites right until the last day.

Larson’s odds to win the championship are currently at around +380, this represents a huge swing as he went into the season with odds of +1200. Larson’s consistency on the track has proved to be key with regards to betting movement, and further success would only see his odds shorten further.

Outside Chance

The season opened with an air of uncertainty as punters were looking at a group of high-quality racers, but at that time, the bookmakers decided that Chase Elliott was to be announced the favorite for the season. Chase has had a very inconsistent year, but now finds his odds back at +600, having been as long as +750 after finishing 3rd at Dover International.

Chase started out the season as favorite with odds of +550, so now if he can live up to expectation, we may see a lot of value at his current price.

Chase has managed 1 victory this season, coming in the EchoPark Texas Grand Prix and has had 2 second place finishes and a third place in the last few weeks which might be an indicator that early inconsistencies are now behind him and he is coming into form just in time for the Play-Offs which means his current odds could represent very good value.

Kyle Busch started out the season as a +900 chance for the championship and was looking like a great bet after storming the opening race in Daytona. It took him until May to get another victory under his belt as he emerged victorious in Kansas at the Buschy McBusch Race 400. He now has a reasonable chance of claiming the title and so that is reflected with respectable odds of +750.
