Justin Haley will miss both the NASCAR Xfinity and Cup Series races at Dover International Speedway this weekend.
On Friday, Kaulig Racing announced that Haley would miss the Xfinity Series race “in accordance with NASCAR’s COVID-19 protocols.”
The team will use Zane Smith to fill in for him in the No. 11 entry at the 1-mile concrete track.
Spire Motorsports was scheduled to have Haley in their No. 77 entry for the Cup Series race but now will turn the seat of that car over to Josh Berry. Berry will be making his Cup Series debut on Sunday.
Last season Austin Dillon and Jimmie Johnson missed races due to the COVID-19 protocol but Haley is the first Cup driver to miss a race this season.
