On Wednesday morning Natalie Decker revealed she will miss her final race of 2020 with Ave Motorsports after testing positive for Covid-19.
Decker said she had “sat with the news for a few days” before telling fans she would not be able to compete.
“In what seems to be the unfortunate theme of 2020, I can’t make my last race of the year with Ave Motorsports because I have tested positive for Covid. This has been a roller coaster year with many set backs but nothing will break me! I sat with this news for a few days and couldn’t figure out a way to tell you all that my last race of the year will not be happening. I’m very sad and upset as I wanted to end the year on a high note. I’ll be missing this race but the main focus is to get healthy! And I am doing everything I can to do so! Please all of you stay healthy and safe!”
Decker ran in 13 NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series races in 2020 scoring a fifth place finish in the season opening race at Daytona, the highest for a female in the series.
