Jimmie Johnson led 60 laps in the opening stage of Sunday’s O’Reilly Auto Parts 500 at Texas but it was Joey Logano who would win the stage.
Logano was able to overtake Johnson during green flag pitstops as he was able to get on and off pit road faster than the driver of the No. 48 Chevrolet.
When the stage came to a close, Ryan Preece ran out of fuel.
Following pitstops to start stage 2, Johnson retook the lead.
