Calvin Johnson may be considering retirement. The wide receiver reportedly told his mother that “he wasn’t sure he wanted to play anymore” according to ESPN’s Ed Werder.
Johnson is coming off a season in which he snagged 88 catches for 1214 yards and nine touchdowns but apparently cleaned out his locker unlike many of the other veterans.
Still playing at a high level it would be a surprise to see Johnson retire at the age of 30 but apparently is an all of nothing guy according to a teammate who said “Calvin is the kind of guy who says, ‘If I don’t feel I’m into this 100 percent, then I need to decide if want to be in at all.’

The Lions are coming off a 7-9 season. After a rough start the team got better later in the season thanks in part to a easier schedule.
