Colts give extensions to Chuck Pagano and Ryan Grigson

Not only are coach Chuck Pagano and general manager returning next season, the Colts have given them an extension.

In one of the bigger surprises since the end of the regular season the Colts will bring back Pagano. The coach gets a four-year extension. Pagano’s worst season came this year when the Colts finished 8-8. Prior to that the Colts produced three straight 11-5 seasons. The loss of Andrew Luck for much of the season and subsequent poor offensive line play which led to a massive number of injures to backup Matt Hasselbeck derailed the Colts season.

Grigson received a three year extension though the 2019 season even though he has failed to properly evaluate talent in the draft, spent wildly in free agency and made a horrible trade for Trent Richardson. If Grigson has any plans to finish out his contract he best be working to land himself some help on the offensive line. Grigson’s inability to protect his franchise quarterback  led to the Colts having to play five different players at quarterback.

Pagano and Grigson will both be banking on Luck being healthy and ready to put up big numbers in 2016. A press conference will take place at 10:30 am tomorrow.
