Giants not interested in Max Scherzer

The Giants failed to re-sign Pablo Sandoval and then whiffed on their bid to land starting pitcher Jon Lester.

With money to spend some have pointed the Giants as a potential landing spot for 2013 AL Cy Young Winner Max Scherzer. You can rule it out according to general manager Brian Sabean.

The Giants have not talked to Scherzer and do not plan to talk to him notes Alex Pavlovic.

Landing spots for Scherzer are dwindling with the Yankees ruling themselves out yesterday and the Cardinals saying the same earlier in the week.

Scherzer finished 2014 with 18 wins, a 3.15 ERA and a 1.18 WHIP. He is said to be looking at a deal in the $200 million range.
