Relief pitcher Jonny Venters did some light throwing on Tuesday.
It was the first activity for the Atlanta Braves reliever after he was shut down more than a week ago for pain caused by scar tissue in his surgically-repaired left elbow.
The Braves have not placed any timetable on a return to the field for Venter. That he was able to throw on Tuesday is a good sign but he is still a ways away from contributing. Anything the Braves get out of Venters this season has to be considered a bonus.
