Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher Bronson Arroyo is sidelined with a bulging disk.

On Tuesday the right hander underwent an MRI and was given an epidural Wednesday by the team.

“He feels a lot better since he’s had that,” general manager Kevin Towers said via the teams website.

Arroyo dealt with a similar issue in 2011 and right now doctors are simply telling him to limit his activity in the next seven to 10 days.

“They want it to calm down before he starts throwing again,” Towers said. “Of course, Arroyo doesn’t think it will take that long. Nothing they’re concerned about. It’s not a herniated disk. He did it running the other day, felt it running. It’s not anything worse than he had before. [Lee] thinks as long as they hit the spot right with the epidural, he should be fine.”

The Diamondbacks do not believe Arroyo is in danger of missing the start of the season.
