With Miles Austin and his $5.5 million against the cap expected to be jettisoned the Dallas Cowboys appear ready to move Terrance Williams into the No. 2 wide receiver role says ESPN’s Calvin Watkins.
Williams had good and bad moments in 2013. Overall the 24-year-old finished his rookie season with 44 catches for 736 yards and five touchdowns.
With Scott Linehan taking over the play caller duties in Dallas, there’s some who believe that the Cowboys will become even more pass happy. If so Williams could be in store for a big year as an offensive play maker after he caught 12 passes for 20 or more yards last season.
The Cowboys could bank on Williams progressing in much the same way as Dez Bryant did.
