The Oakland Athletics have signed outfielder Sam Fuld to a minor league contract.
Fuld, 32, will receive an invitation to spring training and could make $800,000 if he makes the A’s out of spring training. His contract includes an additional $100,000 in incentives.

The deal also provides Fuld with opt-out dates in late March and June 1. He hit just .199/.270/.267 over 200 plate appearances last season with the Tampa Bay Rays. His versatility and speed could help him land a bench spot with the A’s.
