Travis Hafner wants to continue MLB career

Travis Hafner recently joined the Notre Dame College of Ohio baseball staff as a volunteer but that does not mean that the former big leaguer is ready to retire.

“I’m working out every day, getting ready for the upcoming season,” Hafner told the Cleveland Plain Dealer. “The body and swing feel good.”

Hafner, 36, appeared in 82 games for the New York Yankees in 2013 hitting .202 with 12 home runs.

“We’re ecstatic to have someone as accomplished as Travis as a part of our department,” Notre Dame College Director of Athletics Scott Swain said. “His remarkable career with the Indians is well documented, and his presence, hard work, and dedication should help us a ton moving forward.”
