Plenty of baseball players pack on pounds or drop them prior to spring training. Pablo Sandoval is one who lost weight, reportedly 42 pounds.

During his career with the San Francisco Giants the weight of Sandoval has went up and down with the front office becoming frustrated at times with their star player.

Set to become a free agent at the end of the 2014 season it’s no surprise that Sandoval got into shape.

Pablo’s brother posted the following photo on Instagram:

A year ago he hit .278/.341/.417 with 14 home runs and 79 RBI. The 27-year-old is a two time All-Star.

Last season Sandoval was listed at 240 pounds but CBS Sports claims he was closer to 270 which means a 42 pound loss woulkd place him around 230.
