The Week 1 status of Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jordy Nelson is in doubt. On Monday Nelson underwent knee surgery and is expected to miss 4-6 weeks.
Reports indicate that the surgery was done in an attempt to correct an old nerve issue which has plagued Nelson since college.
The Packers are expecting Nelson to be ready for their Week 1 game against the Saints.

Last year Nelson missed four full games and was limited in others while dealing with hamstring and ankle issues.
The news is obviously not good for the Packers who already have lost left tackle Bryan Bulaga to a torn ACL.
Nelson, 28, has 117 catches for 2,008 yards and 22 touchdowns over the last two seasons.
