Stephen Strasburg ‘structurally perfect,’ will not miss a start

There are no concerns over the forearm of Stephen Strasburg according to Washington Nationals general manager Mike Rizzo.

Rizzo termed Strasburg’s arm as “structurally perfect” on Tuesday and said that the right hander would not miss a start.

Those whispers about a problem with the forearm of the 24-year-old can be quieted as Rizzo said that there was “no problem” and that Strasburg only suffered irritation. The irritation is not related to the 2010 Tommy John surgery that Strasburg had.

Last season the Nationals shut down Strasburg before the season ended, even as the team was on its way to the post season.

This season Strasburg has pitched better then a 1-4 record would indicate. The ace of the Nationals staff has struck out 8.7 batters per nine innings and has a 3.13 ERA.
