The Baylor Bears had never defeated a top ranked team but they did just that Saturday night as they pummeled the top ranked Kansas State Wildcats. Baylor did most of their damage on the ground racking up well over 300 yards.
Baylor held an 11 point lead at halftime and pulled away in the third quarter scoring 24 points. Lache Seastrunk and Glasco Martin both topped 100 yards on the ground with the latter scoring three touchdowns.
Kansas State quarterback and Heisman hopeful Collin Klein threw three interceptions in the game.
Baylor students rushed the field at the conclusion of the game. The win moved Baylor to 5-5 and will knock Kansas State from the top spot in the polls.
Stanford upset the No. 2 ranked Oregon Ducks a few minutes later in overtime, 17-14.
This marks the first time since 2007 that both the number one and number two teams lost in the same weekend.
Notre Dame who entered the week as the No. 3 ranked team will move up to the top spot. They will play USC next week.
