Robert Griffin III suffers concussion during Falcons game

Quarterback Robert Griffin III (known as RG3) was knocked out during the third quarter in the Washington Redskins versus Atlanta Falcons game on Sunday.

Griffin who is one not to avoid being hit and has had team members and fans worried that one day he would get knocked out and not get back up scared them all today.

Griffin was hit extremely hard by Atlanta linebacker Sean Weatherspoon knocking him into Atlanta defensive tackle Jonathan Babineaux.

Griffin laid on the ground face first for a few moments before he walked off the field himself. He was treated on the sidelines and then carted from the sidelines to the locker room.

Griffin is reported to have suffered a concussion when he was trying to avoid the sack.

When he came to Redskins Coach Mike Shanahan said, “He wasn’t sure what quarter it was in the third quarter. So at that time, when he wasn’t really sure what the score was, what the quarter was, we knew he had a mild concussion — at least according to the doctors”

“It feels good right now; a lot better right now. But that was … why he didn’t go back into the game.”

`About three hours after the game, Griffin tweeted the following message:

When Griffin was led off the field by trainers, chants of “RG3! RG3!” rang out in the stands.

Griffin had been the leagues top rushing QB with 234 yards. He has already tied the Redskins season record for QB with four rushing touchdowns.

Atlanta won the game marking there fifth win on the season. Final score was 24-17.
