Brad Keselowski captured his fifth win of the 2012 season by winning at Dover International Speedway. Keselwoski won two weeks ago at Chicagoland to open the Sprint Cup Series Chase. After the win Keselowski assumes a five point lead over Jimmie Johnson who finished fourth.
Kyle Busch had the car to beat on the day but was forced to pit for gas late which gave Keselowski the lead. Jeff Gordon finished second but was unable to pull close enough to Keselowsk’s No. 2 car to make a move.
Mark Martin finished third with Johnson and Carl Edwards rounding out the top five.
The only other car on the lead lap was the No. 56 of Martin Truex Jr. Early on many cars were trapped a lap down when a caution came out during the first round of pit stops.
Busch, Denny Hamlin, Clint Bowyer and Joey Logano were the rest of the top ten.
Matt Kenseth saw his Chase title hopes go to the wayside as he suffered a broken track bar and wrecked again dropping him to 12th and a season worse 72 points out of the lead. Teammate Greg Biffle also suffered a big set back which likely has ended his hopes as well. Despite finishing second Gordon made up little ground in the title hunt, moving from 12th to 10th but gaining no points on Keselowski.
