The No. 5 Ford of Wauters Motorsports will be driven by Ryan Reed during Saturday nights race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Reed, 19, has competed in the ARCA and K&N Series.
“It’s pretty exciting to be making my first start in the NASCAR series,” Ryan Reed said. “Since I was a little kid I’ve always thought about what it would be like to drive a (NCWTS) Truck, Nationwide or Cup car, so to be finally doing it is really cool. I think it gives us a head start on next year, whatever we end up doing. Hopefully it will be back in one of these three series. I think everyone knows that Richie (Wauters) is one of the best in the business so to be driving one of his trucks is an honor. We’ve been having success racing in a Ford on the ARCA side so the synergy is there and with Richie’s truck being a Ford I think it gives us a really big advantage.
Racehard.com will serve as the joint sponsor for the Smith’s 350, NASCAR Camping World Truck Series event with RyansMission.org. RaceHard.com outfits racers, crews and fans, from head to toe. They sell pit crew apparel, pit equipment and auto racing safety equipment.
Ryansmission.org details Reed’s diagnosis with Type 1 Diabetes and his non profit organization Ryan’s Mission. Reed hopes to “build awareness, become a role model, and positively touch the lives of so many that have already been affected by the disease.”
This is such an amazing opportunity for Ryan to be living his dream and setting an example to all the other young people diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes to never give up. With every lap Ryan takes on the track he represents each and everyone dealing with the disease. Go Ryan!!!
Great Job RaceHard Team! We are all proud!
