Ricky Stenhouse Jr is taking over the No. 17 Ford Fusion at Roush Fenway Racing next season. The 2011 NASCAR Nationwide Series Champion is currently attempting to repeat but that has not kept RFR from announcing a pair of his sponsors for the upcoming season.
It has been known for months that Stenhouse would drive the No. 17 which is currently driven by Matt Kenseth but the status of sponsorship for the car was not.
Many current sponsors of the No. 17 car will return in 2013. Best Buy, Zest and Fifth Third Bank all will spend some time as the primary sponsor of the car. An actual inventory of how many races still need sponsorship was not disclosed by Roush Fenway.
“I’m honored to be able to step into the 17 ride,” Stenhouse said at Chicagoland Speedway. “That whole team is a top-caliber team. I feel good they have the confidence in me to come in and be able to run a car like that.”
Carl Edwards who also was sponsored by Best Buy in a few races this season will again be sponsored by them in “a few” races next season.
Trevor Bayne will drive the No. 6 car in the NASCAR Nationwide Series.
