Final race for Pastrana, 100th for Scott at Atlanta Motor Speedway

This weekend marks Travis Pastrana, driver of the No.99 Boost Mobile Toyota in the Nationwide Series, last race of the 2012 season. Pastrana, who was scheduled to run eight races this year, had his best finish at Indianapolis Motor Speedway when he finished in the top fifteen. He had shown steady improvement each race.

This weekend could be special for Pastrana and a lucky fan who has a chance to win $1 million courtesy of Boost Mobile and Samsung. Five Boost Mobile/Samsung customers won an all-expenses paid trips to meet Pastrana and watch him race Saturday. If Pastrana wins, one of the semi-finalists will win a million dollars.

Pastrana on the race this weekend “I know Atlanta is a very fast race track and a big challenge to guys with years of experience. We have gotten better each time we have shown up to the race track and I am pretty confident we will show up strong this weekend. My goal is always to finish every lap and get the most out of every race. However, I feel that we can finish in the top 10 this weekend. It’s a challenging goal for me and my race team, but I think we are good enough to do it.”

This weekend also hits another milestone, but for Brian Scott, driver of the No.11 Dollar General Toyota for Joe Gibbs Racing. It will be his 100th career start in the NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS)  this weekend at Atlanta Motor Speedway. Scott is in his second year of racing at the NNS level with JGR.

Scott made his series debut at Nashville Superspeedway in April of 2009 and since then has earned five top fives, 18 top 10s and one pole. Scott currently sits ninth in the series championship point standings.
