Tony Stewart and Office Depot go back to school at Pocono

It is that time of the year again. It’s back to school time and Tony Stewart and Office Depot will bring a colorful paint scheme to Pocono Raceway this weekend.

Stewart, last years NASCAR Sprint Cup Champion, will drive the No. 14 Office Depot/Mobil 1 Chevrolet with a special back-to-school paint scheme during Sunday’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Pennsylvania 400. Along with the Office Depot Foundation’s logo appearing on the hood of Stewart’s car, the colorful paint scheme will also incorporate a variety of essential school supplies, including pencils, pens, markers, notebooks, a laptop and more.

This is not to say Stewart was exactly the model student growing up.

“I wasn’t the best student. I didn’t get the best of grades, but it was because I didn’t apply myself. From the time I was eight on, I wanted to be a racecar driver. I didn’t understand how important school was at the time, so I didn’t apply myself as well as I should have.”

Other partners of Office Depot which will be on the car include 3M, Lenovo, Elmer’s and Monster.

As for Tony Stewarts favorite subjects in class he replied with the following.

“I liked all of my math classes. In high school, I liked physics and geometry. Those were probably the classes I liked the best. Obviously, I didn’t even realize at the time why I liked them so well, but after graduating high school and moving on, you realize how much you use all of that in racing. Those three subjects were very important and still are.”
