Kurt Busch drove his orange #1 car to victory lane in Friday’s NASCAR Nationwide race. Despite damage early in the race, Busch won the Subway Jalapeno 250 to record his first win for Phoenix Racing. Busch had won a race for his brothers Nationwide program, Kyle Busch Motorsports, earlier this year.

Once he exited the car Busch exclaimed “We just won Daytona” the excitement was not loss as the driver let everyone know “It’s just passion and heart, that’s all I can give.”

Since being suspended for the weekend at Pocono, Busch has been on a role at all levels of NASCAR. It started with the driver wheeling a battered #1 car to third place in the Sprint Cup Series at Sonoma,  and was followed by a second place finish in the Nationwide Series race at Kentucky.

Busch will drive the #1 Sprint Cup Series car for Phoenix Racing during tonight’s Coke Zero 400. The car is also without sponsorship but maybe without heart and passion.
