Ward Burton will be back in NASCAR. A five time winner at the Sprint Cup level and winner of the 2002 Daytona 500, Burton will drive select races in the Camping World Truck Series in 2012.
Burton will share the seat with his son Jeb who recently raced in the Whelen All-American series. Ward will drive the truck at Daytona since Jeb is not yet qualified to drive on the 2.5 mile track. The last NASCAR appearance for Ward came in 2007.
The younger Burton will make his debut behind the wheel in the Kroger 250 at Martinsville on March 31. Trip Bruce will serve as the crew chief for both drivers.
The Burton’s will partner with Hillman Racing in order to field the trucks.
This is the best news I’ve had in a long time. I know where I’ll be on Friday nights.
I am so excited for Ward and to see Jeb his son. I love the trucks.
OMG I LOVE ME SOME WARD BURTON LET THE INTERVIEWS COMMMENCE, I LIKE
THE WAY HE TALKS, DON’T YOU?
Glad to see Ward back. He was always a class guy and shouldn’t have been overlooked this long. Now if only some team would give Casey Atwood a chance to come back I would be even happier.
