Ron Hornaday to drive for Joe Dennette in 2012

Last week during the Nationwide race at Phoenix news came out that Ron Hornaday had signed a letter of intent to drive for a truck series team in 2012. That team is believed to be Joe Dennette Motorsports.

Joe Dennette is a Virgina lottery winner turned truck series owner. In 2011 Denntte’s team has ran a total of 26 races, between Jason White (24) and Elliott Sadler (2)  and earned a total of two top 5s and four top 10s.

Two weeks ago at Texas, Hornaday’s run for a fifth truck series title came to an end when Kyle Busch put him in the wall. The results of this was the suspension of Busch for the remainder of the weekend and a $50,000 fine.

It is believed that Busch and Hornaday had talked about putting the former truck series champion in a Kyle Busch Motorsports truck prior to Texas. Kevin Harvick says that those talks continued after their incident at Texas.

Currently Denette gets their equipment from KHI. With KHI shutting down, don’t be surprised to see Denette acquire a large portion of what is left of that team following the season.
