Busch out of Nationwide finale, Hamlin in

Jenna Fryer is reporting that Z-line has dropped Kyle Busch for the final Nationwide race at Homestead. Denny Hamlin will drive the car instead.

This is the first response from a sponsor since Busch wrecked Ron Hornaday under caution during the Camping World Truck Series race at Texas. NASCAR responded by parking Busch for the remainder of the weekend and then issued a $50,000 fine.

NASCAR says that Busch is eligible to race this week at Phoenix so any decision will come on the part of Joe Gibbs Racing.

Joe Gibbs Racing has not said whether Busch will race this week in the Sprint Cup race at Phoneix. If Busch is to be removed from #18 Toyota it’s unclear who would replace him in the seat. Last week at Texas Michael McDowell drove while Busch sat on the pitbox. Another name that has been tossed around online is Aric Almirola. Almirola drove the #9 car in 2009 for Richard Petty Motorsports when driver Kasey Kahne was released prior to seasons end.
