Gordon, Johnson latest pit crew change

FORT WORTH, TX - NOVEMBER 07: Crew members of the Lowe's Chevrolet, break down the pit box of Jeff Gordon, driver of the DuPont/National Guard Chevrolet, during the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series AAA Texas 500 at Texas Motor Speedway on November 7, 2010 in Fort Worth, Texas. When Clint Bowyer and Kevin Harvick’s pit crews were swapped a few weeks back it let everyone know that Richard Childless Racing was completely behind getting Harvicks car the best shot at a championship.

On Sunday the pit crews of Jeff Gordon and Jimmy Johnson were swapped, albeit during an actual race. The reasons were the same. Gordon’s pit crew had been performing better and Johnson’s then pit crew were to blame for the #48 car losing positions on pit stops.

It didn’t come as a complete surprise that the crews were swapped, though I have to admit I figured it would of occurred well before Sunday’s race at Texas and was even questioning the move during the race. Of course the move was made easier after Gordon and knocked from the race after an incident with Jeff Burton.
