Nats sign Wang, unsure of return date

The Washington Nationals cCleveland Indians at New York Yankees at Yankee Stadium in New Yorkonfirmed two things we all thought we knew last week. They have signed right hander Chien-Ming Wang to a contract, and they like everyone else have no clue when the pitcher will be able to take the mound.

Wang is returning from shoulder surgery he underwent last year after making just 12 appearances for the New York Yankees.

Wang also missed the second half of the 2008 season while dealing with foot problems.

His best years were unquestionably in 2006-2007 when he went a combined  38-13 with a 3.67 ERA for the Yankees.

A timetable for his return was not noted and the team is expected to field questions at a press conference on Friday.

While no official terms have been announced it’s believed the two were talking about a contract around $2 million last week.
